America Magazine’s New Book Features Historic Pope Francis Interview

January 6, 2014 — America Magazine has the perfect book for Pope Francis fans: “A Big Heart Open to God,” which includes the entire English-language translation of the interview with Pope Francis that was published in the magazine.

In the historic interview, Pope Francis' vision for the church is outlined through an intimate conversation with Jesuit Father Antonio Spadaro. The pope shares his insights on many topics, including the Roman Curia, women and the church, the Second Vatican Council and prayer.

Co-published with HarperOne, the book also includes an introduction by Jesuit Father Matt Malone, America’s editor-in-chief, and commentary by Catholic clergy and thinkers, including Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Kerry Weber, Bishop Blase Cupich and Jesuit Father Drew Christiansen.

In addition, the book has a spiritual reflection written by Jesuit Father James Martin, with suggestions on using the pope's words for meditation and prayer.

“A Big Heart Open to God” is available in hardcover or as an e-book from amazon.com. Read an excerpt here.
