October 1, 2018 — Fr. Edmund Lo, SJ, has been named Canada's National Coordinator of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (PWPN). This network addresses the challenges facing humanity and the mission of the church, expressed in the pope's monthly prayer intentions.
PWPN also has a branch called the Eucharistic Movement for Youth (EMY), aimed at young people from 5 to 25. This movement encourages them to build a “heart-to-heart” friendship with Jesus and to conform their lives more and more to his. It brings together more than one million children and young people in 56 countries, which makes it the second most important youth movement in the Catholic Church.
“This responsibility is tied to our ministry to young adults, people who are sometimes overlooked among all of our apostolic priorities,” explains Fr. Lo. “The EMY groups are popular within different ethnic communities, and it’s a way for us to serve immigrant populations in the church, groups that greatly contribute to the vitality of the parishes in Canada.” [Source: Jesuits in Canada]
