The Jesuit Center in Wernersville, Penn., is a place of natural beauty, welcoming quiet and spiritual sustenance for those who seek peace within. The center offers 250 acres of beautiful rolling hills, planned roads, walkways, terraces, grottos and cloister gardens.
The Jesuit Center’s mission is twofold — prayer and hospitality. The retreat center facility has 85 private bedrooms, a large and small dining room, conference rooms, small meeting rooms and several parlors for group meetings. The center offers a variety of retreats and programs, including five- and seven-day silent directed retreats, a 30-day retreat, workshops on specific faith topics and training programs for spiritual directors, all based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola.
Over the past 30 years, female colleagues have collaborated with the Jesuits as full-time staff members. Today, women comprise a large percentage of the spiritual directors as well as the retreat participants at the Jesuit Center. The center also serves as the primary residence of Jesuits who are retired or still active in the local community as chaplains and ministers or as members of the center’s Spiritual Growth staff.
In addition to the retreats and programs offered by the Spiritual Growth staff, the center welcomes Catholic and other ecumenical groups who are looking for a beautiful setting to conduct their own group meetings.
