Jesuit Brothers

Jesuit Brothers of Canada & U.S.A. proclaim…

the good news of Jesus Christ by working in such fields as drama, technology, engineering, archivists and social ministries. They staff retreat houses, mission centers and parishes. Brothers work as administrators, computer technicians, chaplains, fundraisers, artists, health care professionals, scientists, and retreat directors. In schools, they serve as teachers, librarians, digital media specialists and coaches. These are only a few of the many ministries of the Jesuit Brother. What determines the choice of ministry? The changing needs of the Society of Jesus and the Church of the 21st Century.

What's In Your Heart?

What's in your heart? Sometimes our hearts desire more than a job. Sometimes our hearts desire companions on the spiritual journey. Click here to view a showcase of men whose hearts desired more than a job and so they became companions of Jesus as Jesuit brothers.

The Jesuit Brother is primarily, and completely, a Jesuit. He is a man committed to the service of the people of God as a member of the Society of Jesus through the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. The Brother has responded to a special call from the Lord. His goal is to further the work of God’s Church among the men and women of his time. Like all Jesuits, the Brother is especially prepared for this task by the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. The Brother is continually supported and motivated by his Jesuit companions, by his personal prayer and daily participation in the Eucharist.
